Privacy Policy

Our Commitment

Card Barcodes is built with privacy as a fundamental principle, not an afterthought. We believe your personal data belongs to you—and only you.

Data We Collect

None.

Card Barcodes does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. We have no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect your information.

Data Storage

All your card data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your cards never leave your iPhone unless you explicitly export them yourself.

  • Card names and barcode values are stored only on your device
  • No cloud sync or backup to external servers
  • Data is protected by your device's security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode)
  • Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data

Camera Access

Card Barcodes requests camera access solely to scan barcodes. Camera data is:

  • Processed entirely on-device
  • Never recorded, stored, or transmitted
  • Used only during active scanning sessions

No Analytics

We do not use any analytics services. We don't know:

  • How many people use the app
  • Which features you use
  • How often you open the app
  • What cards you store

This is intentional. Your usage is your business.

No Advertising

Card Barcodes contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs. We will never sell your data because we don't have any to sell.

Third-Party Services

Card Barcodes does not integrate with any third-party services that collect user data. The only external code is:

  • RSBarcodes_Swift - An open-source library for rendering barcodes, which operates entirely offline

Children's Privacy

Card Barcodes does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. However, our commitment to collecting zero data means there's very little that could change.

Summary

We don't collect your data. We don't want your data. Your cards stay on your device, period.
